Hello, I'll be arriving on jan 18th my plan is to stay 3 days in tokyo, from there to kyoto and osaka for 5 days. Then coming back to tokyo to do some day trips like mt fuji and kamakura. Which one is better in this case.

The 7-day JR Pass is the best option, the cost of the pass is similar to a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka using the Shinkansen. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price, and day trips is where you can make good savings.
