Still finding it difficult to understand whether it is worth it or not cause I am getting confusing answers. We will be visiting Japan for our honeymoon between the 24th December 2014 till 11th January 2015. Itinerary circa as follows:

24/12: Arrival at Osaka (Night stay in Osaka)
25/12: Depart to Kyoto
26/12: Sightseeing Kyoto
27/12: Depart Hiroshima - Visit also Miyajima
28/12: Depart to Kyoto and sightseeing Kyoto
29/12: Day trip Himeji
30/12: Day trip Nara
31/12: Sightseeing Kyoto
01/01: Depart for Tokyo and sightseeing Tokyo
02/01: Sightseeing Tokyo
03/01: Day trip Hakone
04/01: Day trip Nikko
05/01: Day trip Kamakura
06/01: Day trip to Disney
07/01: Sightseeing Tokyo
08/01: Depart to Takayma
09/01: Sightseeing Takayama
10/01: Depart to Osaka
11/01: Depart back

Hello there,

I don't think that there's a better place in the world than Japan to spend your honeymoon. Let's have a look at ticket prices and see if a JR Pass would help you make savings. I assumed what you would use a 21 day JR Pass since you are spending such a nice amount of time in Japan.

Hiroshima - Miyajima (return) ¥ 1,140

Kyoto - Himeji ¥ 5,470

Kyoto - Nara (return) ¥ 1,380
Kyoto - Tokyo ¥ 13,800
Tokyo - Hakone (Odawara station return) ¥ 6,440

For a total of ¥ 98,950 or ¥ 39,600 in savings as the 21 day JR Pass is ¥ 59,350. With the JR Pass you also just need one ticket for all your travel making it very easy to get around. Additionally the JR Pass is also good for local travel around on many local JR lines in Tokyo and Osaka adding even more to your savings.
