we will be travelling to Japan in July 2026 with the following itinerary. Could you please let us know if it is better to purchase a 21 days JR pass or rather several regional passes? Thanks a lot!
- arrival Tokyo Haneda
- 5 nights in Tokyo -
- travel Tokyo to Enzan JR station - 2 nights in Yamanishi
- travel Enzan JR station to Kamakura - 2 nights in Kamakura
- travel Kamakura to Kyoto - 6 nights in Kyoto
- while in Kyoto, day trips to Nara * Himeji and maybe Osaka
- travel Kyoto - Hiroshima
- while in Hiroshima, day trip to Miyajima
- travel Hiroshima back to Tokyo
Could you please also let me know how I can find the best train connection between 2 cities and if I can/should book the train prior to arrival?
