Good morning, please check this itinerary.
01/01/26 Tokyo - Kagoshima. Can we take a morning train?
01/03/26 Kagoshima - Hakata, Fukuoka
01/04/26 Hakata - Hiroshima
01/05/26 Hiroshima - Osaka
On 01/08/26 we would like to travel from Osaka to Shirakawago, but we are not sure how to travel, could you give us your advice?

01/10/26 Osaka - Tokyo.

01/11/26 Tokyo - Nikko. Can the excursion be done in the day?

Hi there,

Tokyo - Kagoshima by train! That's a long one :) I've done it myself and is possible for sure. Be sure to bring a good book or two and plan a stop for lunch along the route.

For travel to Shirakawago, there are a few direct buses. By train you could first take a ltd. express train to Kanazawa and from there take the Nohi bus to Shirakawago.

Nikko is perfectly possible as a day trip to Tokyo, with the JR Pass you can even use the Shinkansen for part of the route.
