Hello and thank you for your help! I have never been to Japan and am excited, but very unclear about how to get/use the JRPass, or if I should even purchase one. Your advice is very appreciated!

I will be traveling with 3 other people to Japan. I would like to know if I should get a Railpass, and if so, which one?

Oct. 19, 2023 Fly into Tokyo, staying with my brother
Oct. 23-26 Kyoto
Oct. 26-28 Hiroshima
Oct. 28 back to Tokyo
Oct. 29-31 Hakone (but if this changes things too much, I don't need this part of the trip included)
Oct. 31-Nov. 1 back to Tokyo...we fly out Nov. 1

Hi Lizoforcas,

I would recommend a 7-day JR Pass for your travel to Kyoto, Hiroshima and back to Tokyo. These are the routes that cost a lot and where the JR Pass will offer you the best possible value.
