My husband and I are travelling from Tokyo to Takayama then to Kyoto, Okayama and ending in Kobe. This travel will take 10 days. We have Australian Seniors cards. Which Japan Rail Pass do we purchase. Thankyou Judy.

Hi Judy,
I made a little list of ticket prices to see what would be a good option for you.
Tokyo --> Takayama ¥ 14,600
Takayama --> Kyoto ¥ 9,980
Kyoto --> Okayama ¥ 7,530
Okayama --> Kobe ¥ 5,640
This adds up to ¥ 37,750. I think you may find a 7-day JR Pass useful if can travel the first 3 legs within its period of use. This would result in travel total of ¥ 32,110, or ¥ 3,810 in savings as the 7-day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300. Unfortunately there is no pass for 10 days. If the above does not work out, than I would recommend buying single tickets for your travels.
