Hello my wife and I are planning a trip to Japan and arrive at Narita Airport in July Next year..
can I buy a pass now or should I wait til nearer the time?
How long will the pass be valid? Will it be valid from the exchange takes place on arriving in Japan???

Also we are planning to visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and the Art Island of Naoshima is there any other pass I can get?
Regards
Lester

Hello Lester,

A JR Pass has to be activated within 3 months after purchase, so for now wait a little bit more before purchasing one.

A pass is valid for 7, 14 or 21 days. With the cities you wish to visit in mind, I would opt for a 14 day JR Pass. This way you have enough time to enjoy each experience.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
