Just purchased a 7-day JR pass for my trip to Japan on March 31st. Can the JR pass be used for local/in city travel? I’m planning to travel to Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima as well.

Hi there,

Yes, you can use the JR Pass on the local JR Network in cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Note that transport on non-JR companies, such as the metro, is not included.

In Hiroshima, you can also use the Hiroshima tourism bus for free and Ferry to Miyajima.
