Can you still get train schedule bookets. Many year ago when I went to Japan. JR had booket with all of the timetable when each train was departing from any city in Japan to the location you wanted to go to. You could plan on which train which train you want to board from each station.
Are these timetable booklets still available when you get your JR pass. These were very helpful when you don't have any internet service.
