Hi, I have purchased the JR rail pass for 7 days and am not sure which trains I can use and where I can find train times. The shinkansen is included? Also where can I book a train in advance? Is their a website?
My specific query is that I wish to go from odawara to kyoto on the evening of 6th October. Is this route included in my pass and how do I get train times for the evening? I elsie it is a 2 hour trip on the fast train?

Hi Ravi,
The Shinkansen is included in the Shinkansen! Trains can be booked at any JR station in Japan. Here is how to reserve a seat using the JR Pass.
The trains between Odawara station (Hakone) to Kyoto is also included in the JR Pass.
Here is an example route for you. It takes 123 minutes :)
