We are two families (Family 1 - 4 adults, 1 child AND Family 2 - 4 adults) travelling to Japan in January 2026. The following is our itinerary, could you please recommended how we are best to do this regarding the JPass (14 day plus single ride to Tokyo OR single passes for whole trip OR 21 day pass OR another option)
4th - 8th Osaka (Travel to Hiroshima on 7th)
8th-10th Kyoto
10th-14th Tokyo
14th-21st Hakuba
21st Travel to Tokyo to fly home to Australia.

That looks like a fun family trip! Hakuba is one of the best snow resorts, I've ever seen.
For tickets, I recommend getting a Kansai - Hiroshima Area Regional Pass for travel to Hiroshima and around Kansai. This includes the Nozomi train between Shin-Osaka and Hiroshima station.
Then buy single tickets to Hakuba. An alternative to Hakuba would be using a highway express bus from Osaka. These take a little longer but are direct and are easy to use, as you can bring your own gear.

Thank you for your reply, so you don't recommend a regional pass for our day trip to Hiroshima and then a 14day JPass for us to use for the remainder of our trip?
