Hi

We are 2 adults and a 10 year old looking to travel from Tokyo to Osaka to Kyoto and back to Tokyo, would a JR Pass be the best option for this itinerary?

Hi there,

A JR Pass no longer pays for itself on a return trip Tokyo to Kyoto/Osaka. In this case, it would be better to take a normal train ticket arrangement. If you did some extra travel like Hiroshima and Nikko, then the pass would be good.
