Hi there! If I have a JR Green Pass, would I have to pay the entire 13,600 yen supplement for the GranClass from Tokyo to Sendai or would I only have to pay the difference from a Green Seat (8,600 yen), making my additional payment as 5000yen?

Hi there,
If you want to use the GranClass seats, the Japan Rail Pass will only cover the basic fare and you will need to pay the full supplement fee of ¥13,600 rather than the difference.
This means that if you intend to use the GranClass seats there is no difference in final price between the standard and Green car class JR Passes.
