It is worth to use 7 days JR Pass if We travel :
1. Osaka Kansai Airport to JR Namba
2. JR Namba to Universal Studio
3. Osaka to Toyama
4. Toyama - Tateyama
5. Toyama - Takayama
6. Takayama - Osaka JR Namba
7. JR. Namba - Osaka Kansai Airport

Hello Michelle,
I checked the route for you and would suggest buying normal tickets for your travel. The most expensive legs are Osaka to Toyama ¥ 8,730 and Takayama - Osaka ¥ 10,600 however this is not enough for a JR Pass to pay of. Additionally Toyama - Tateyama is traveled on a private railway where the JR Pass is not usable.
However the difference in price is small, so if plans change, then a JR Pass could quickly become useful.
