JR Pass Recommendation for Kyushu

Hello, will be travelling within Kyushu in October 2024 for 10 days. Planned route during this period is: Hakata -> Kumamoto -> Beppu -> Hakata. Would you recommend getting the JR Pass and if yes, which Pass would you advise getting? Thank you.

Hi there,

If you are able to fit in your train journeys within a 5 day period (e.g. stay a bit longer in Hakata at the start or the end) The Northern Kyushu Area Pass would be perfect for you. If not, the All Kyushu Pass goes up to 7 days and would allow you to make any extra day trips you might want to spontaneously make at no extra cost.
