Hi,
Can anyone tell me a good route to go from Takayama to see the snow monkeys in Nagano.
It takes about 4 hours by JR Rail.
From Nagano, is there a good place to stop in between Nagano and Jjigokudani?
I understand it will be another 50 minutes train ride.

It is indeed quite a ride to visit Jigokudani, or the snow monkey park in Nagano from Takayama.
A nice place for a stopover would be Yudanaka, you'll pass this on the way from Nagano to Jigoku-dani. It is a nice townish place with onsen and nice places for lunch.
