I am coming to Japan on 17th April to 4 th May. Staying with family in wakayama for few days. Could you tell me if I should get 7 day pass if I want to travel from wakayama to Gifu then mount fuji then Hiroshima and perhaps fukuoka. Can I decide what dates to use it on after I buy it?

Hi there,
We have a useful tool, the JR Fare calculator that you can use to find specific fares, or even the entire cost of your itinerary.
If you do a trip Wakayama - Fuji area - Hiroshima, then yes, a 7-day JR Pass will be well worth it.

Thank you. Do we have to say the 7 days we plan to use the rail pass when we are buying it or just say the dates we will be in Japan?
Also we may only go from wakayama to Gifu then Mount Fuji then Osaka airport KIX would jr pass still be worth it ?
Can you activate the pass in wakayama train station .
