comparing JR pass with single ticket purchase

First time in Japan, 7 days trip. Itinerary: Tokyo to Kyoto (3 days), Nara, Koya-san, Osaka, Takayama and back to Tokyo. Is it worth purchasing a JR pass or is it better to buy individual tickets?

Hi there,

I put your itinerary in our fare calculator here. As you can see, you'd have to add around 8,100 JPY for the JR Pass to help you start saving.

For example, add a day trip to Hiroshima, and it'd be totally worth it!
