Checking itinerary and costs

Hello,

Our itinerary is planned :
11/09 -- Tókio - Hiroshima
12/09 - Hiroshima (Miyajima)
13/09 - Hiroshima - Osaka
14/09 - Osaka (Koyasan) Osaka
16/09 - Osaka - Kyoto
17/09 - kyoto - Nara
18/09 - Kyoto - Takayama
19/09 - Kyoto - Tókio
20 - 23/09 - Tokio

My questions would be:
- Using hyperdia my impression was that buying the tickets would be less expensive than using JR Pass. Could you confirm that? - Would you recommend some other places to visit considering that this is our first trip to Japan?

Hi there,

Let's have a look at ticket prices and find out.

Tokyo - Hiroshima ¥ 18,760
Hiroshima - Miyajima (return, including ferry) ¥ 1,140
Hiroshima - Osaka ¥ 10,430
Osaka - Kyoto ¥ 560
Kyoto - Nara (return) ¥ 1,420
Kyoto - Takayama ¥ 10,260
Takayama - Kyoto ¥ 10,260
Kyoto - Tokyo ¥ 13,800

For a total of ¥ 66,630 or ¥ 20,240 in savings as the 14 day JR Pass is ¥ 46,390. The JR Pass can also be used for travel between Tokyo and the airport, adding even more to your savings.
