30 Day Itinerary

Hi,

I will be travelling around Japan for the first time for my 30th birthday and need some advice if the JR Rail Pass would be worthwhile based on my itinerary.

I land in Tokyo Narita airport on 21.03. I will stay one night in a hostel in Tokyo. I then will go to Osaka on the 22.03 and stay till the 27.03. I plan to visit Nara and Kobe whilst based in Osaka. I will then go to Kyoto from the 27.03 - 01.04.

I then will travel to Hiroshima from the 01.04 - 05.04. (On my journey to Hiroshima I plan to stop at Okunoshima for a few hours). I then will go to Fukuoka to fly to Okinawa where I will stay from the 05.04 - 11.04. I then will fly to Osaka and plan to take the train from there to Takayama from the 11.04 - 15.04. From there I head to Tokyo where I stay from the 15.04 - 20.04 and fly out from Narita airport again.

So rough route is Narita airport-Tokyo-Osaka-Nara-Kobe-Kyoto-Okunoshima-Hiroshima-Fukuoka-Naha-Osaka-Takayama-Tokyo-Narita airport

Please if you could provide any advice or information I'd be extremely grateful.
