Hi, I am traveling to Japan in April, we are renting car to move from some places but we need to use the bullet train from Hakone to kyoto and then from Kyoto to Hiroshima. Can we buy the ticket the same day just one way? Or is it better to buy a JR pass (7days).

Hi MpinzonAlvarez,
Normal tickets, Hakone - Kyoto + Kyoto - Hiroshima will come down to about 25.000yen per person. A 7-day JR Pass is 29.650, so if you were to do a little more travel, then a 7-day JR Pass is worth considering.

Thank you so much for your response. Can I ask another question: Can the JR pass be bought the same day to be use? or has to be in advance. If so how much time in advance.

Also, can normal tickets be use for bullet train? Hakone-Kyoto then Kyoto-Hiroshima.

Yes, of course you could also buy normal tickets.
The JR Pass can be purchased at some stations in Japan, but we do recommend doing so ahead of time. As prices are up to 20% lower.
