Where is the best place to exchange for JR Rail Pass in Nagoya area? When we exchange the pass, is that counted as the 1st day? or should we exchange the pass only when we plan to use the pass?

Hi there,
The best place to activate a Japan Rail Pass in the Nagoya area is at Nagoya station, which will have a ticket counter available to process your exchange order from 6am-11pm.
When you exchange your rail pass you can specify a starting date for the validity period any time up to 1 month in the future. Please note that Japan Rail Pass validity is measured in days rather than hours, so you'll be best to start your use of it as early in the day as possible.
