Hi.
I may be missing something, but I can't find detailed instructions on the website on how to use it.
I realise it needs to be activated. How is that done? Where is it done? I have to have my passport with me?
I do not need to have it active it until I start to use it, but can I activate it in advance giving a start day or does it have to be the day I begin to use it.
Is there anything else I should know about its use?

Hi MikeT,
We will send you an Exchange Voucher for the pass, you bring this, together with your passport to one of the major stations in Japan and the JR Staff will then activate the pass for you. This can be done at stations like Tokyo station, Narita Airport, Haneda and many, many more!
You can select your own starting day, up to 30 days in the future, once you activate the pass. Other than that, it is easy to use once started. You can also start making seat reservations once you activate the pass, this is great to secure seating.
