Is it best to get a JR pass, and if so, do we get a 7 day or 14 day? Or should we purchase individual tickets for each trip?
Hi there,
The 14-day Nationwide JR Pass offers the greatest convenience, as it allows you to travel seamlessly without having to buy tickets for each leg of your journey.
However, if you would prefer to optimise your budget, combining individual point-to-point tickets with the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass is an excellent alternative that offers significantly better value for this particular itinerary.
If you do choose the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass, please note that the activation points can be limited, so it is best to exchange your voucher for the physical pass in advance. You can specify your desired starting date when you do this. When you set off for Hiroshima, simply show the pass to the JR staff, and that portion of your journey should be covered.
I hope this helps with the planning of your trip!
Kind Regards,
Mariko
