Purchasing JR Pass before price increase

Hi, thanks in advance for your help!

Myself and a party of 2 others are travelling to Japan in Feb 2024. With the price increase happening in October, this is roughly 5 months before we will be needing the pass. On the FAQ’s it states you can place an order for a pass 6 months before travel commences.

“Exchange orders with a lead time more than 3 months will be dispatched closer to your travel date.” - I’m assuming this means if we order it, it’ll just be sent out closer to when we plan on being in Japan.

So, if we were able to purchase the JR pass in late September before the price increase, would this work for our trip in Feb 2024 and we can avoid the more expensive rate? Any help or advice is appreciated!
