My wife and I will go to japan this may. our itinerary for our trip is
May 4-9 we will be in tokyo and take a trip to hakone and nikko
may 9-11 hiroshima
11-15 Osaka and kyoto
15-17 back to tokyo.
Is it best to buy 2 week JR pass or get 1 week pass and buy suica for tokyo trip?

Hello there,
Both options would work here. There is plenty of travel here and you can easily make savings using a 14 day JR Pass. This would be the most flexible of both options.
At the same time, using a 7 day JR Pass from May 9th to May 15th. All your long distance travel is in this period and there are budget options available for travel to Nikko and Hakone. With a bit of planning this option may be slightly cheaper.
