I just purchased a 7 days pass. I will activate it in Tokyo in June the 07th which is ok and I will use the train tickets from the 09th to the 14th (which is outside the 3 months period)
Is the 3 month period is only about exchanging the pass or to use it too?
It looks like once you exchange it you have 1 month to use it.

Hi there!
This is always a bit of a confusing point. Keeping it simple, you can exchange (activate) the JR Pass up to 90 days after purchase.
At the moment of exchange you can select a date for later use up to 30 days a head of time.
You could thus start using the JR Pass up to 120 days after purchase if you activate it on the 90th day.
