Itinerary and JR Rail Pass

Hi there!

The JR Pass can be used for the greater part of your planned itinerary. Only for travel to Tateyama would require some traveled not covered by the JR Pass. You can use the JR Pass for travel up to Toyama and from there the last part is traveled using the Toyama Chiho Railway Tateyama Line (¥1,200).

Travel from Matsumoto - Tateyama is a pretty long ride so I would advice to send your luggage ahead of you. I think that it would make more sense to visit Tateyama directly from Osaka as it makes for easier travel. I have changed my itinerary a bit:

Kyoto to Kanazawa (will stay 2 nights each)
Kanazawa to Murodo (possible 2 nights in Murodo)
Murodo to Matsumoto (2 nights in Matsumoto)
Matsumoto to Nagoya (1 night in Nagoya)
Nagoya to Centrair airport

Will I need a 7 or 10 day pass? Can I use the JR pass for travel from Kansai airport to Kyoto and from Nagoya to Centrair airport?
I hope you can also send me a link showing the trains I can use for my trip.

We have an interactive map with all lines and destinations covered by the JR Pass.

I checked the route for you:

Kyoto - Kanazawa ¥ 6,900
Kanazawa - Murodo ¥ 2,150 (JR Pass covers up to Toyama)
Toyama - Matsumoto ¥ 6,780
Matsumoto - Nagoya ¥ 6,030

Right now it would be better to buy normal tickets as you travel, as you would not cover the price of a 7 day JR Pass (¥ 29,110).
