Hi everyone.
I am going to be in the Lake Fuji area on 5th December for one night.
I am then travelling to Hakone on the 6th for one night. On the 7th I will return to Tokyo.
I will have a JR pass for my trip and wanted to know whether it is worth it to purchase the Fuji-Hakone pass as well in terms of transportation in the area? As well as whether any other passes would be helpful in that area in terms of discounted prices to visit the local attractions?

It certainly can be worthwhile, if you take advantage of it. The pass covers transport for both areas, as well as discounted admission to many popular places. More info is here. In Hakone, the Loop Course is a common way to see all the sights and takes a full day.
