I need help in understanding if all I need to do is purchase the JR Pass for the travel I want to do and if so, a 7 or 14 day pass.
24/9 Arrive Tokyo
25/9 Tokyo to Kyoto
29/9 Kyoto to Hiroshima
30/9 Miyajima Island
1/10 Hiroshima to Gotemba
4/10 Gotemba to Tokyo
10/10 Leave Tokyo

You will be covering plenty of Kilo meters (or miles if you prefer) and I recommend using a 14 day JR Pass for your itinerary. This will cover travel between all the places in your itinerary and give you plenty of flexibility.
Will you be visiting the Premium Outlets area in Gotemba?
