Arriving Narita airport Jun 1
Staying in Tokyo till jun 5
Going to Kyoto June 5 till 9
Will visit Osaka for a day on 8th
Coming back from Kyoto to Tokyo Jun 9
Leaving jun 10 via Narita airport
So, I wonder when would be the best date to activate my 7 day JR pass?
Also, wanna double check to see if JR pass covers JR metro line in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka?

Hello there,
My advice would be to start using the JR Pass from June 4th - June 10th. This way you cover the most expansive part of your travel which is Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo. In addition you would also cover your way back to Narita Airport, which is also very nice.
Travel within Tokyo is not very expansive and you could use a Suica card within Tokyo to make your travel a lot more convenient.

PS: The JR Pass is not valid on the Metro, however you can use the local JR Network in Tokyo and Osaka, this is more than enough to see most of both cities.
