My husband and I are arriving in Tokyo March 8. We purchased the 1st class JRPass for 7 days. What train should we take on March 11 to our next destination of Osaka that will get us there with the least transfers? Can the train accommodate 2 large suitcases near our seats or other compartment? How far in advance should we reserve our seats? Thank you so much!

Hi there,
You can ride the bullet train directly from Tokyo station to Shin-Osaka, from there local lines run throughout the city which you can use to travel to your Hotel. Green Class is generally very quiet and I think that you should have no problem at all reserving your seats, even if you do so 15min before your departure.
All train cars can accommodate a couple of suitcases at the end of each train car.
