Hi , i'm planning to go to japan for the first time for two weeks. i'm not too sure whats the best pass to purchase
Can i use the jr pass in the city too?
my plan is train to osaka from tokyo airport the first night and using osaka as a starting point to travel to kyoto, nara, and maybe kobe, and lastly back to tokyo .
but i'm not sure if i'm able to use the pass within the cities as well.

sorry i forgot to mention that i will be leaving osaka on the 8th day to tokyo and staying in tokyo for the rest of my trip

Hi there,

I would recommend using a 7 day JR Pass if you can use it to travel to Osaka and back to Tokyo within its 7 day validity period. The JR Pass can also be used for travel within Osaka on the JR Network and for travel to Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.

If you can't make the return to Tokyo within 7 days, then I would advise buying normal train tickets during traveling.
