Should we get 7 days JR pass or normal tickets please?

Hi there,

My wife and I are going to Japan for the first time for 12 days and wish to explore the cities and towns as well as nature gifts there.

Here is our itinerary:
23 - 26 nov : arrive Kansai airport and travel around Kansai cities. (May be just to buy normal tickets)
27 nov : take train from Nara to Takayama and stay in a Rhykan there.
28 nov : visit Gero on the way back to Nagoya and stay over night.
29 nov : over night at Hakone.
30 nov - 3 dec : visit Tokyo areas with one day trip to Nikko and depart from Narita airport on the 3rd dec.

Is it worth to get 7 days pass to use from 27 nov to our departure? or normal tickets will do?
