I am interested in purchasing a GREEN Japan Rail Card
but looks like I cannot active it until I get to Japan.
How do I make my reservations without an active card?

You can make reservations for some trains via the JR East (EKI NET) website.

i am planning to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto and on to Nara
Can I use the JRPass to make reservations on GREEN for all of these journeys?
And if so, I do I do this as I can not collect my pass til I get to Japan?
