Purchase 7 days or 14 Days

Hi

I'm pretty confused about whether I should purchase 7 days or 14 days JR pass for my 2 weeks trip to Japan.

Tokyo May 14 - May 19
Kyoto May 19 - May 24
Osaka to Tokyo May24 - May 27

Since while in Tokyo will not use JR pass(Not sure if I need it or just use local train around city). I would like to know if buy ticket between Tokyo and Kyoto and then buy activate my 7 day pass while I am in Kyoto so they I can use it while coming back to Tokyo.

Also, I am living in Canada and would like to know how long delivery will take
