Hi,

Here is my itinerary..
Day1: Arrive at Kansai Osaka, train to Hakuba
Day5: Hakuba to Osaka, by train
Day6-9: Sightseeing at Osaka
Day10: Fly back

Pls advise if it's worth getting the JR Pass. Seems there's no regional pass that covers my travel locations, right? So, do I save much if I get the 7 day whole Japan pass?

Hi there,

Yes, a 7-day JR Pass will be worth it. The cost of one way Osaka - Hakuba using the Shinkansen (to Iiyama station) is ¥ 21,810 or ¥ 43,620 for a return. The cost of a 7-day JR Pass is ¥ 29,650. So that's good savings right there.

Add any local travel, to/from the airport and it adds up even further.
