I arrive in Kansai airport on 18 Jan and would like to go straight to Kyoto and spend 5 nights there. I plan to go to Osaka on the 23rd. My flight from Kansai airport is on the 26th. Do I need the JR Pass or is it better to buy normal tickets?

Hi there!
I would recommend normal tickets as you go, travel between Osaka - Kyoto is only 540 yen. You could consider a the ICOCA + Haruka package which is a very good deal if you travel to Kyoto upon arrival at Kansai Airport.
