Only want to use JR pass towards the end of the trip

Hello,

I'm going to be in Tokyo for the first 2 weeks of my trip, but on the third week I want to use the JR pass to travel to Kyoto and Nara so I only require a 7-day pass.

Do I still pick up the pass upon arrival in Japan?

Also if I am located in California can I get the exchange order the next day?

Hi there,

You can activate the JR Pass at any time when you are in Japan, no need to do so at the start.

Note that you do need to place the order outside out Japan, we provide overnight shipping within the USA. See:www.jrpass.com/delivery
