I have bought a JR pass (valid from 7th May) and it has been delivered to me in London, UK.
I know i can book JR East tickets online but what about Tokyo to Kyoto for example? How can I book this seat reservation online please?
Do I really have to wait untill I am in Japan to book my tickets? What is they are sold out by then? (I am visiting over golden week)

Hi there,
Yes, Tokyo to Kyoto can be booked via the JR-East site, but only once you've exchanged your JR Pass order once in Japan. Unfortunately you have to wait until you are in Japan, but as long as you make reservations immediately upon arrival I think you should be fine in terms of Shinkansen, considering the number of services there are.
