How do we know if our JR PASS is valid for a limited express train? It was mentioned that any limited express train that travels on private rails is not valid to be used with a JR PASS (for free, anyways). How does one find out if the train they are getting on travels on private rails?

Hi there,
There are several ways to find out.
You can check out our interactive map, it shows all lines covered and lines that need additional fares.
A list of lines covered and not covered can be found here on the bottom of the page.
Lastly if you want to make sure, post the routes you plan to travel and I can let you know.
Hope you find this useful,
Daniel
