Hi, I will travel to Japan this upcoming Nov. Does JR Pass can be used in Hokkaido region? or i need to purchase the regional pass for hokkaido?

Yes, the JR Pass is valid in Hokkaido and also covers the "Hokkaido Shinkansen":https://www.jrpass.com/blog/what-is-the-hokkaido-shinkansen.
