We are a couple planning our Japan trip, next spring (hopefully we get to see the cherry blossom).
Our itinerary is 14 days total, we start from tokyo, Haneta, Nara, Osaka, Kanazawa, Takayama and back to Tokyo where we take our flight.
Given the high increase of the prices of the JR pass in 2024, is it still worth to purchase it or would you suggest to do a combination or regional trains ?

You will be travelling quite a lot, so I'd like to say yes! However, since the price update has not been finalised and fares in Japan are also set to go up, I can't say for sure at this point in time.
I suggest to check again later this year, from October.

Hi Daniel-san, now with the new prices out, we are also debating between the JRPass or the Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass.
