If I have the first class JR pass and forgot or no time to make a seat reservation, would I get in trouble for that?
In other words, Can I ride the first class seat without seat reservations (bought the first class JR pass)?

Hi Frank,
All Green Seats (1st class) are by reservation only. You have to make seat reservations in advance if you want to travel on a Green Seat.
You can however take an ordinary non reserved seat if you don't have the time to make a seat reservation. Also if you are in this situation, just ask the conduction if it is possible to move to Green Class. If possible, they will assign a seat to you.
