JP Pass for Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto

Hi there,

We are a group of 8 adults, travelling Japan for 1 week. We will be visiting Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto and from Osaka back to Tokyo for our returning flight. Is the JR pass cover all the cost of travelling to these locations? As for Kyoto, we will stay in Osaka and take a train to Kyoto. Do we need an extra ticket for that journey? If yes, how much will that cost?

Thank you very much!
