My 7-days JR pass, which started on April 6, 2016, will expire on April 12, 2016. The question is, if I board LTD. EXP SUNRISE SETO from Himeji Station at 23.01 (April 12, 2016) and will arrive at Tokyo Station at 7.08 (April 13, 2016), will there be any extra charges when I get off at Tokyo Station? Hi there,
The JR Pass allows you to "finish" the train ride if you boarded the train before midnight. You may have to explain to the ticket gate staff though that you arrived by Sunrise train, so keep your reservation ticket at hand.
