I have received the JR Pass receipt and vouchers for my trip to Japan in March. I am not clear on exactly how to use the JR Pass. Do I need to go to a ticket office or ticket machine each time that I am going to use the JR Pass to print out tickets for each trip? Is that correct?

Hi there,
Firstly, you will need to exchange your voucher for your Japan Rail Pass at a JR Pass exchange office once you arrive in Japan.
Your activated pass is then valid for travel on the JR local trains. For the Shinkansen trains, please make a seat reservation at a JR station ticket office (Midori-no-madoguchi) or ticket machine.
