Hi,
I want to know if I can use the Japan Rail Passes to travel from Tokyo to Fukui?
We wish to visit the Fukui Prefecture Dinosaur Museum in Katsuyama City.
Also if anybody knows which is the closest station, schedules of trains etc it would be a great help.

Hi Aparna,
It is a bit of a trip from Tokyo but certainly possible. Here are a couple of routes for you to consider. Please note that the last part by Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line is traveled on a private railway and the JR Pass is not accepted on it, the additional cost is ¥750.

I would also recommend a visit to Kanazawa(http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Kanazawa), since you are in the Area.
