Is it worth it to buy first class? What are the advantages?
I'm looking at a 14 day pass and cant decide if I should spend the extra money for first class. I will be using my Tokyo apartment as a home base and doing day or multi-day trips to a new city/destination everyday.

We have a blog post on the green pass that highlights the advantages of the green car, but simply put Green Car offers more space, nicer seats, and less crowded travel.
Whether you decide to purchase a green car pass depends very much on your budget and required comfort! The ordinary cars are also comfortable, so unless you are doing a luxury tour I personally recommend a normal car pass, spending the savings on enjoying Japan while you are there.
