How comfortable is the regular Rail Pass compared with the first class. ? Will we get reasonable seats in the regular class? Or does one risks having to travel standing up?

Hi there,
Regular is generally fine for most people. It is more comfortable than economy class on airplanes. You have about 50% more space and chair can be reclined.
That said, Green Class is well worth considering if you don't have to worry about the budget for it.
